Weave & Grieve
with fiber & funerary artisan, Michael Marie
Weave and Grieve gatherings allow participants to use crafting activities as a medium to explore and process personal and collective grief in community. These meetups will have an informal format, with conversation flowing organically to take the shape of group needs and interests. All forms of grief and craft are welcome. Bring a project of your own or borrow one of Michael’s baskets to weave for the session (no basket weaving experience necessary!).
Join us in Southeast Michigan (monthly with the New Moon) or in the Leelanau Peninsula (quarterly with major seasonal shifts). Learn more about each meetup below:

Weave & Grieve in Southeast Michigan
with the new moon
Join us once a month with the new moon to Weave & Grieve in community. The new moon is a time of darkness, stillness, and renewal. It’s a liminal space between an end and a beginning. This time of the month lends itself well toward embracing grief. Aligning these community gatherings with deeper natural rhythms may help us better reestablish a relationship with grief in an overculture where it has become taboo.
Weave & Grieve in the Leelanau Peninsula
with the seasonal shifts
Join us at seasonal shifts to Weave & Grieve in community. We too often base our lives around man-made calendars. Rather than listening to nature and its seasonal shifts, we structure our lives around fiscal years, school years, or weekdays vs. weekends. While convenient for our modern age, there is something worthwhile in embracing the shifting energies of nature. Join us at the liminal spaces between the seasons, just as energies begin to shift and change.
