Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
$4.00
Yarrow is a fascinating native plant that has hybridized and integrated with introduced nonnative varieties. It has retained its appeal to native pollinators during its evolution, and the Xerces Society lists it as a pollinator favorite. All varieties have a long history of medicinal uses, both by Native Americans in the United States and throughout Europe. In addition, some studies report how it can easily be made into a tincture that can rival DEET as a bug repellent. Many bird species, including the common starling, use yarrow to line their nests and there’s evidence its use may inhibit parasite growth.
